The benchmark in chronograph design

The A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Up / Down timepieces epitomize the category of mechanical chronographs with their cutting-edge technology and precisely jumping minute counters – resulting in some of the most accurate chronographs in the world. This model has a power reserve of 60 hours, clearly legible with the Up/Down indicator at 6 o’clock.

Detailed features & specifications

This model was introduced in 2015. The dial is crafted from solid silver and graced with solid-gold appliques and hour markers. The hands are made of pink gold and blued steel. The hour and minute hands as well as the hour markers at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock are luminous.

With their cutting-edge technology, combined with the prominence of the dial and the calibre design, the DATOGRAPH models epitomise a separate category of mechanical chronographs. The outsize date and the two subsidiary dials form an equilateral triangle; this endows the face with balanced poise and assures excellent legibility. The DATOGRAPH UP/DOWN has a power reserve of 60 hours; the state of wind is easily readable on the UP/DOWN display.

The distinctive arrangement of the displays calls for unusually long and slender levers in the movement – plus the in-depth know-how and skills of the designers. This horological opus reveals its particular charm especially when the chronograph mechanism is activated, triggering the ingeniously orchestrated interaction of levers, rockers, and wheels.
