FEATURES & SPECIFICATIONS
For over ten years, the Datograph has been the benchmark in chronographs. Its assets include the outsize date, the high-speed flyback switching mechanism for the chronograph and a patented, precisely-jumping minute counter. The Datograph UP/DOWN model also indicates the power reserve of the mainspring.
The shared axes of the hour and minute hands as well as of the chronograph sweep-seconds hand are in the centre of the blackened dial. The subsidiary dials for the seconds and the minute counter are not positioned on the horizontal centre line as usual but shifted downward slightly. Together with the outsize date, they form an equilateral triangle to create this chronograph’s distinctive face.
All 451 parts of the L951.6 manufacture calibre are lavishly finished. The sharply polished reentrant angle of many calibre components is an indication of the amount of work involved: this delicate, time-consuming process can only be executed by hand.
