- The international guarantee card is signed, dated and stamped by the place of purchase
- The international guarantee card is presented when the timepiece is returned for repair
- The serial number imprinted in the timepiece case is legible
- The timepiece has not been repaired by an unauthorised repairer using unauthorised parts
- All timepieces are supplied with an official instruction booklet and appropriate certificates. Please follow the advice carefully to ensure the guarantee is upheld.
Insurance Valuation
An insurance valuation is provided to all Watches of Switzerland customers. Watches of Switzerland are not able to provide a valuation for timepieces purchased elsewhere.
Maintenance
Quartz Movements
Battery operated movements require battery changes approximately every two years for ladies’ timepieces and every four years for gents’. All battery changes at Watches of Switzerland are conducted in accordance with the individual brands’ specifications, and include a water pressure test and seal replacement to ensure the water resistance. All repairs at Watches of Switzerland are guaranteed for one year.
Automatic Movements
Watches with automatic movements are designed to be worn continuously. To ensure peak performance and accurate timekeeping, it is advised to have your mechanical timepiece serviced and regulated every two years.
Precautions
Screw-in crown
The crown of your timepiece must be fully secured at all times to provide protection against moisture, and prevent air and dust from drying the oil inside. Water resistance cannot be guaranteed if the crown is not screwed in.
Plated Areas
Perfume, synthetic materials, and rough treatment can accelerate the wear-off of gold- or silver-plated areas.
Leather
Swimming with your watch in salt water can accelerate the deterioration of leather straps, whilst use of clean water and a leather conditioner can prolong the life of a leather strap.
Other Considerations
Dropping the timepiece, sudden shocks, chemical products, temperature extremes and strong magnetic forces can affect your timepieces’ appearance, value and function.
