All watches purchased from Watches of Switzerland carry the full international warranty specified by each manufacturer. All international warrantees are honoured under the provisions: (1) the international guarantee card is signed, dated and stamped (2) the international guarantee card accompanies the watch when it is returned for repair; (3) the serial number imprinted on the watch case is legible; and (4) no unauthorised repairs or parts have been conducted on the watch.
All watches are supplied with official instruction booklets and appropriate certificates. Please follow the advice carefully as the guarantee can be voided by inappropriate use or treatment of your watch.

Quartz Movements Battery operated movements require battery changes approximately every two years for ladies watches and four years for gents. This requirement varies from brand to brand and according to additional functions present in the watch. The majority of current quartz watches possess a Battery Life Indicator where the second hand will jump in four second intervals.
Automatic and Chronometer Movements Automatic movements are designed to be worn continuously. To ensure peak performance and accurate time-keeping, owners are advised to have their mechanical watches serviced and regulated every two years.
Water Resistance With or without a screw-in crown for additional protection, owners should have the water resistance of their watches checked annually, to ensure seals and parts are intact, and that water is not corroding the movement or dial.
Water Watches are not designed to be impervious to the effects of salt water, chlorinated water or hot water. When exposed to salty or chlorinated water, the watch should be cleaned with slightly soapy water, rinsed under clean water (rotating the bezel if appropriate) and dried with a soft cloth. Avoid overly hot water as this weakens the seals and applies additional pressure to the watch's system. If condensation appears on the under side of the crystal, have the watch inspected by an authorised service centre.
Screw-in Crown If present, the screw-in crown should be fully secured at all times to provide additional protection against moisture and also to prevent air and dust from entering the watch to dry the oil inside. Water resistance cannot be guaranteed if the crown is not screwed in.
Plated Areas Perfume, synthetic materials, and rough treatment can accelerate the wear-off of gold plated areas.
Leather Salt water, perfumes and direct sunlight can accelerate the deterioration of leather straps. Clean water and a leather conditioner can prolong the life of a leather strap.
Other Considerations Avoid dropping the watch, sudden shocks, chemical products, temperature extremes, and strong magnetic forces which can affect the watches appearance, value and function.
