The characteristic face of the Lange 1 with the off-centre, non-overlapping displays was transposed to the dimensions of the Grand Lange 1 down to the very last detail. The outsize date was enlarged as well and now has the biggest format of all Lange watches to date. The outsize-date mechanism, a stop-seconds mechanism and a power-reserve display mechanism are incorporated in the manually wound movement of the Grand Lange 1.

This model was introduced in 2012. The dial is crafted from solid silver and graced with solid-gold appliques and hour markers. The hands are made of pink gold.
During the development of the GRAND LANGE 1 presented in 2012, the objective was to transpose the face and the harmonious proportions of the LANGE 1 to this model which is 2.5 millimetres larger. In this undertaking, the engineers chose an uncommonly complex path: they first designed the optimised arrangement of the displays and then developed a custom movement that accommodated the architecture of the dial down to the very last detail.
The GRAND LANGE 1 owes its elegance not only to the harmonious dial layout but also to its slender silhouette. With a diameter of 41.0 millimetres, the case is only 8.8 millimetres high – a well-balanced ratio of diameter to height. To assure the maximum rate accuracy of the manually wound L095.1 calibre, it is endowed with a balance spring developed and manufactured in-house.
