IWC Schaffhausen
Portugieser Chronograph
IW371626Portugieser CollectionSince 1998, the Portugieser Chronograph has brought a touch of sporty elegance to the Portugieser collection from IWC Schaffhausen. The IWC-typical, vertical arrangement of the subdials displays the stopped minutes directly at the 12 o’clock position and places the small seconds at 6 o’clock. This layout enhances readability and has made the Portugieser Chronograph a design icon. Another feature is the inner flange printed with a quarter-second scale, enabling high-precision stop-time readings.

Detailed features & specifications
Originally introduced in 1998, the Portugieser Chronograph fuses classical proportions and refined minimalism with the functionality of a chronograph. The IW371626 version features a 41.0 mm 18 ct white-gold case, a thin bezel, and slender pushers, giving it a wide-dials appearance and a balanced wrist presence. The “Horizon Blue” dial — with its vertically arranged recessed totalisers (30-minute counter at 12 o’clock, small seconds at 6 o’clock) and quarter-second flange scale — offers excellent readability and an elegant, airy dial architecture.
The movement is the IWC-manufactured calibre 69355, a column-wheel chronograph calibre with automatic winding and a 46-hour power reserve. A sapphire crystal front and display caseback reveal the finely decorated movement, while a light-blue calfskin strap by Santoni with a matching white-gold pin buckle completes the ensemble. Water resistance to 3 bar confirms its suitability for everyday wear (in formal or casual settings) rather than heavy sport.
