Since inception, Jaeger-LeCoultre has produced over 1,242 different calibres, registered approximately 400 patents and created hundreds of inventions and designs, particularly some of the most iconic and astonishing models in history.

Jaeger-LeCoultre’s contributions to horology include:

  • The Millionomètre, first instrument capable of measuring the micron for precise manufacture of watch parts (1844)
  • A keyless watch mechanism (1847)
  • LeCoultre Calibre 145, the world’s thinnest movement (1907)
  • LeCoultre Calibre 7BF Duoplan for miniaturisation and precision (1925)
  • Calibre 101, the world’s still-smallest mechanical movement 78 parts weighing 1 gram (1929)
  • The first use of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal in watches (1929)
  • The Reverso, iconic Art Deco rectangular swivel case to protect the crystal in polo (1931)
  • Acquisition of the patents for the Atmos Clock, a carriage clock of nearly perpetual movement, powered by barometric pressure (1936-1937)

  • The Duomètre Dual-Wing mechanism to ensure the precision and complication are synchronised by a single regulating part (2007)
  • The Master Compressor Extreme Lab 1, the world’s first lubricant free watch (2007)
  • The Hybris Mechanica à Grande Sonnerie with 26 complications, capable of playing the entire Big Ben chime (2009)
  • The Reverso Repetition Minutes a Rideau, equipped with a minute repeater shutter as a third face covering one of its two dials (2011)
  • The Duomètre Spherotourbillon Moon, enabled to adjust the tourbillon to the nearest second (2015)
